Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Capillary Gel Electrophoresis(CE-SDS) has long been used for the analysis of mAbs, fusion proteins, their variants and new modalities. However, a baseline disturbance is commonly observed that often requires manual peak integration – not something neither you nor the regulatory look forward to. In order to simply eliminate this whole issue, we at Applied BioAnalytics (AB) have introduced SDS Capillary Agarose Gel Electrophoresis (SDS CAGE) as a novel approach for ultrafast separation of therapeutic proteins. In addition to a beautiful baseline, this gel also allows CE-SDS-MS, an AB exclusive!
SDS-CAGE
Purity/size heterogeneity
(via CE-SDS and CE(SDS)-MS)
SDS-CAGE analysis of an anti-Covid-19 monoclonal antibody. Both reduced and intact forms of the therapeutic protein were analyzed using a 0.8% agarose-TBE gel composition. The inset highlights a zoomed-in section of the baseline-separated ngHC and HC peaks from parallel runs, with the intact form migrating within 6 minutes, followed by stable baselines without any disturbances.

Yes, our lab wants to experience life without
the CE-SDS hump!
As with anything new in our biopharma world, this novel gel has to be validated. And there are two options to achieve that: 1) work directly with AppliedBioanalytics; 2) become part of the international collaboration on the evaluation of SDS-CAGE. Either way, please complete the form below to get started. AB looks much forward to have you on board.
